Natural Drum Congas - are we insane? We went all out when sampling the Natural Drum Congas (formely ns_congas). They are the most extensively sampled set of congas ever created, weighing in at 645MB and conatining just under 2000 samples. Extensive presets for Kontakt and HALion 3 included. ND Congas is a single-strike conga sample library with highly extensive velocity layering and articulation options, allowing for the ultimate in realism and performance. The source instruments: requinto - LP 'Galaxy' Giovanni Series (9 3/4" requinto conga) quinto - LP 'Galaxy' Giovanni Series (11" quinto conga) tumba - LP 'Galaxy' Giovanni Series (11 3/4" tumba conga) tumbadora - LP 'Galaxy' Giovanni Series (12 1/2" tumbadora conga) These congas were designed by LP in collaboration with Master Conguero Giovanni Hidalgo. The combination of head size, the unique shell contour, and hardware geometry provide the broadest range of tone available. It blends deep bass tones, smooth open tones, and clean slaps into one powerful set of congas! What other software is needed to use ND Congas? We recommend using ND Congas in conjunction with Native Instruments' Kontakt 2 or Steinberg's HALion 3 soft-sampler - check out the video tutorials to see how easy it is to get up and running with either sampler. Presets for both formats are included. If you don't already own one of these soft-samplers (and don't plan on investing in one any time soon) a cheap alternative is HALion Player – for the average user, this is ideal and won't break the bank. Unembedded & unlocked – yours to do with as you wish... The samples in this library are not embedded or locked in any way. This allows the user to create custom presets in the sampler format of their choice. To make this as easy as possible, the files have all been named in a logical way to make mapping a breeze. Buy one, get one free. Originally this was avalable only as part of the NDK package. It is still a available as a bonus download for those who own NDK, but also as a separate product. ND Congas is a sample library containing single strike congas hits. Technically, the end user could just use a few of the wave files and create a very basic beat. To accomplish that would require little more than the power of a GameBoy. Basically, if you've bought a new computer in the last 5 years, you should be okay. To get the most out of ns_congas, we recommend an Intel P2.4 GHz (or equivelent) with 1GB as a pretty good start. CPU power isn't all that important, but the more RAM you have, the better. You'll also need something to extract the download. WinZip will do this on PCs and Stuffit will do it on Macs.
